Socks - van Gogh Twelve Sunflowers
In 1888, Van Gogh began to paint a series of works to decorate his studio and celebrate the arrival of his friend Paul Gaugin in Arles.
The work carves flower petals and creates a basketry pattern on the painting.
The artist uses bright colours such as yellow and blue which are overall enhanced by the large yellow vase, reflected in this drawing.
