Airy and delicate, these cups are made of rice porcelain, a technique that represented Finland at the Milan Triennials in the 1950s and helped establish the strong reputation of Finnish design.

Material: Porcelain
Production method: Rice porcelain. Ancient method of making ceramics dating from around 1000. The holes are cut into the wall of the porcelain and filled with glaze at a later stage. During the firing process, the glaze melts into the hole forming a thin surface on the hole. In the fired object, the glazed holes shine like holes of light.
